Land Rover India has announced massive drops on the prices of its popular SUVs. The discounted models include both the locally built i.e. Discovery Sport and the Range Rover Evoque, and imported SUVs i.e. Range Rover Sport and Vogue.
The Land Rover Discovery Sport, which started at Rs 48.06 lakhs, will now start from Rs 43.80 lakhs, which is a whopping discount of more than Rs 4 lakhs. However, it has been reported that the base diesel variant, which earlier featured a 2.2-litre engine will now come with a downgraded 2.0-litre engine. Another Popular model, Range Rover Evoque, base variant if which was earlier priced at Rs 49.10 Lakhs will now be sold for Rs 45.85 Lakhs (Ex-showroom, Delhi). The Range Rover Evoque comes with a 2.0-liter diesel engine. Both of these SUVs, Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque, are built locally.
However, the real surprise lies with the imported models. If reports are to be believed, the Range Rover Sport, which now starts at Rs 1.24 crores has witnessed a price drop of a massive amount of Rs 30 Lakhs. And if that was not enough to lure the Indian buyers, the company has dropped the price of its flagship model, the Range Rover Vogue, previously priced at Rs 2.57 crores, by a massive sum of Rs 50 lakhs.
The price drop is being seen a result of drop in the value of Pound after Brexit. Whatever be the reason, the revision will surely help the Tata-owned company to strengthen its position in the Indian luxury car market.
