Renault India Launched Kwid Climber, Prices Start At ₹ 4.30 lakh

Renault India has added another variant to the Kwid line-up and it's called the Climber. The company had showcased the Kwid Climber at the 2016 Auto Expo and since then, according to the carmaker, it has received numerous queries with regards to this car and which is why it's launched this new edition. The Kwid Climber costs ₹ 4.30 lakh for the 5-speed manual variant while the AMT costs ₹ 4.60 lakh (both prices ex-showroom Delhi) and is basically the Kwid with a cosmetic update.

The Kwid Climber will only be available for the more powerful 1.0 litre petrol engine and is available in both a 5-speed manual and automated manual transmission (AMT). It will be available over the top-end RXT (O) variant in manual transmission with three colour options - Electric Blue,  Outback Bronze and Planet Grey. Bookings have commenced across all Renault dealerships in India.

To put things into perspective you will have to shell out ₹ 25000 more for both the manual transmission and AMT variant of the Kwid Climber. The additional ₹ 4000 will be charged for metallic paint and the Kwid Climber is only available in metallic paint and hence the hike is of ₹ 29000. Designed and developed by Renault's design studios in Mumbai and Chennai, there are no changes to the specifications of the car. We've already driven the 1.0 litre version and the AMT version too have told you how peppy it is, so we expect nothing different from the Climber.

The Renault Kwid has been able to dent the sales of the Maruti Suzuki Alto, which was the segment leader in this segment. In fact, in the first eight months of FY 2016-17 Alto sales have taken a hit. Sales have declined by 7.4 per cent to 1,62,894 units, while the Renault Kwid has shot up to 73,676 units from 11,044 units sold in the same period the year before. The Kwid has been looking good and has already garnered 20 per cent market share in this segment. Having already sold 1,30,000 units since its launch in 2015, the Kwid has been successful in creating a benchmark for the segment and with the Climber, Renault is pushing the envelope by introducing more options on the Kwid.

Aston Martin's New Hypercar Finally Gets A Name - Valkyrie, Presented in Geneva

The Aston-Martin hypercar formerly known as AM-RB 001 finally has a name that doesn’t sound like R2-D2's love interest in the next Star Wars movie: Valkyrie.

In Norse mythology, Valkyrie literally translates as “chooser of the slain.” These female figures select who may live and who may die in battle. The Valkyrie then bring half of those slain on the battlefield to Valhalla, where they are governed in the afterlife by Odin, ruler of the gods.

“Aston Martin model names have deep meaning. They need to inspire and excite. To tell a story and enrich a narrative that stretches back some 104-years,” design boss Marek Reichman said in a statement. “The Aston Martin Valkyrie is an incredibly special car that demands an equally remarkable name; an uncompromising car that leaves nothing in reserve.”

To go with its otherworldly name, Aston Martin is promising otherworldly performance. And from what we've learned, that should be a cinch. The Valkyrie will have a hybrid powertrain featuring a 6.5-liter V-12 developed by Cosworth with electric boost courtesy of Rimac. Total output should be about 1,000 horsepower.

That figure should match the car's weight in kilograms (2,200 pounds) as weight savings will be the order of the day. Multimatic, the builder of the Ford GT, will create the carbon fiber monocoque, and the car won't feature a single piece of steel.

Aston Martin has also confirmed that the Valkyrie will run on Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires measuring 265/35 ZR20 at the front and 325/30 ZR21 at the rear. The wheels, measuring 20x9.5 inches at the front and 21x11.5 in at the rear, will be a lightweight magnesium alloy set with center-lock nuts to further reduce unsprung mass.

A total of 175 cars will be built, 25 of which will be for track purposes only. A reveal of the completed car will take place next year with deliveries to follow in early 2019.

Lamborghini Aventador S launched in India at Rs 5.01 crore

Lamborghini on Friday launched the new generation Aventador S in India at Rs 5.01 crore (ex-showroom, New Delhi). Lamborghini had unveiled the new Aventador S in the US last year. The new Aventador S is Lamborghini's second launch for the year after Huracan RWD Spyder. Lamborghini had launched Huracan RWD Spyder last month for Rs 3.45 crore (ex-showroom, New Delhi).

Engine:

Under the hood, the Lamborghini Aventador S comes with a naturally aspirated twelve cylinder, 6.5-litre engine with maximum power output of 740 hp, with a 690 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. Transmission is provided by Lamborghini's lightweight Independent Shifting Rod (ISR) 7-speed shifting system. Acceleration from 0-100 km/h is reached in 2.9 seconds, with a top speed of 350 km/h.

Design:

The design of the new Aventador S clearly indicates the new Aventador generation. The Aventador S features a number of exterior developments, particularly in front and rear, while its profile remains clearly an Aventador. A more aggressive nose and longer front splitter redirect airflow for better aerodynamic efficiency, improved engine cooling and increased cooling to the radiators. Two air ducts in the side of the front bumper reduce aerodynamic interference from the front tires and optimize wake flow to the rear radiator.

The rear of the Aventador S is dominated by a black diffuser, available on request in carbon fiber, characterized by a number of vertical fins that amplify the airflow effects, reduce drag through pressure recovery and generate downforce. Three single exhaust outlets exit through the rear bumper.

Features:

The cockpit of the Aventador S brings new functionality and refinement. A new TFT digital dashboard can be customized according to the driver's preferences, with different kombi screens for Strada, Sport, and Corsa in conjunction with the EGO mode. Apple CarPlay comes as a standard specification. The Lamborghini telemetry system is an optional specification: recording lap times and track performance as well as trip data.

Dimensions:

The new Lamborghini Aventador S comes with a wheelbase of 2,700 mm and measures 4,797 mm in length, 2,030 mm in width and 1,136 mm in height.

Competition:
The 2017 Lamborghini Aventador S will compete against the likes of Ferrari FF, BMW i8 and Audi R8 in India.

Porsche revealed Panamera wagon 2018

Porsche has revealed official photos and details on its Panamera wagon ahead of its debut at the Geneva Motor Show next week.
At launch, Porsche will offer four different Sport Turismo models.

1) The 330-hp Panamera 4
2)  The 440-hp Panamera 4S
3) The 462-hp Panamera 4 E-Hybrid
4) 550-hp Panamera Turbo

All models are powered by twin-turbo V6s, except the Turbo, which gets a twin-turbo V8. Interestingly, 0-60 mph times for all sport Turismos are the same as their sedan counterparts. The quickest is the Panamera Turbo, which sprints to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds with launch control. That makes it as quick as the recently-debuted Mercedes-AMG E63 S Wagon.

Unlike the Panamera sedan, though, the sport Turismo will only be offered with all-wheel drive. There's also no word on if Porsche will build a sport Turismo version of the 680-hp Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid.

The sport Turismo will be the first Panamera sold with five seats–or as a 4+1 in Porsche-speak–though you can still order it with two electrically adjustable rear seats instead. As you'd expect, the sport Turismo is more practical than its sedan counterpart, though not by a significant margin. With the rear seats folded up, cargo capacity is 18.3 cubic feet to the sedan's 17.4, and 49 cubic feet with the seats folded down, versus the sedan's 46.

Just because the sport Turismo has a long roof, Porsche hasn't forgotten about generating downforce too. The rear part of the roof extends at 105 mph, or 56 mph in Sport or Sport Plus modes, to aid high-speed stability. This spoiler generates a maximum of 110 lbs of downforce on the rear axle. When the panoramic sunroof is open, the spoiler extends to 26-degrees of attack, to help reduce wind noise.

For all that extra cargo space and wagon goodness, you'll have to pay more for the Sport Turismo. The entry-level Panamera 4 Sport Turismo starts at $96,200 to the sedans $89,600, while the top-of-the-line Panamera Turbo Sport Turismo costs $154,000 to the sedan's $146,900.

Considering the Sport Turismo costs more than the sedan and doesn't add much practicality, it seems like this will be a niche option. But what a niche. If you don't want to follow the crowd and get a Cayenne, there's probably no better car.

Online Bookings Opened Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS For ₹11,000

Maruti Suzuki is set to launch their much anticipated hot hatchback Baleno RS on March 3 and the company has started accepting bookings for the car. The Baleno RS can be booked through the Nexa website or a Nexa dealership for an amount of Rs 11,000.

The Baleno RS will be Maruti Suzuki's second launch this year after the Ignis and with this, the Indian automaker will be entering the hot hatchback segment into the country which is currently dominated by the Polo GT. The highlight of the Baleno RS is the 998cc Booster jet engine that is capable of delivering a mammoth 100 horsepower and 150 Nm of torque. The three-cylinder motor can churn out so much power due to a bit of forced induction trickery and will come mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.

When it comes to appearance, then the Baleno RS gets a few nips and tucks in the form of an updated front and rear bumper with new tail lamps and projector headlamps with daytime running lights (DRLs). Inside the car, the biggest attraction will be the inclusion of the SmartPlay infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and in terms of safety, the Baleno RS will come with dual airbags, disc brakes on all four wheels, ABS and EBD.
